What does Agent Ready mean?
Agent Ready is my vision of business software in which an AI agent becomes the default operator through open APIs, while people keep the ability to observe, intervene and take over.
AgReady is the product I am building toward that direction. Agent Ready describes the idea. The two names are related, but the vision is broader than the product's current capabilities.
From a person operating software to an agent carrying out work
I expect more routine business operations to be carried out by agents. A person would describe the intended outcome and boundaries; the agent would use the system's open APIs to perform the permitted work.
For example, an agent might prepare an update in a business system, with a person checking the proposed change before it is applied. This is an illustration of the direction, not a claim about an available AgReady integration.
Two places where people need control
Inside AgReady
People need a way to direct the agent, understand its progress and intervene when the task changes or goes wrong. That includes setting limits, reviewing requests for action and stopping work when necessary. The precise controls must be checked in the version being used.
Inside the connected business system
The business system should retain a user interface that people can operate directly. A person should be able to inspect the same business state, make a correction or take over the work without depending on the agent to mediate every step.
These are separate needs. An agent control screen does not replace the human interface of the system the agent is operating.
Open APIs and usable interfaces belong together
In this vision, APIs provide a dependable path for authorized agent actions. User interfaces remain a direct path for people. “Open” does not mean unauthenticated or unrestricted: access, permissions and the effect of an action still matter.
Removing the interface would leave people with less ability to understand and recover the work. Removing meaningful human control would also miss the point. The goal is to change who normally performs an operation while preserving human judgment and a practical way to take over.
How this guides AgReady
AgReady starts with the agent workspace: task context, model configuration, tools, reusable instructions and human control. A connected system's APIs and direct user interface are responsibilities that extend beyond that workspace.
This is my future-facing view, not a certification or an industry standard. It does not describe a fully implemented product. The product overview explains AgReady's present scope, and the documentation provides practical starting points.
